Snorkeling
In front of our hotel lies the second largest barrier reef in the world named "The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef". If you want to snorkel to the reef, take the kayak with a rope attached to it. Once you arrived at the reef, you can just drag the kayak with you while snorkeling, it will float behind you. Or we can arrange a snorkel tour by boat. The guide will take you during a 1 or 1.5 hour snorkel trip to one or 2 beautifull spots in front of the coast.

Diving
Make arrangements with one of the many diveshops in and around Mahahual and discover all the beauty that diving in front of our coast has to offer. You choose if you want to do 1, 2 or even 3 tanks a day. Most of the diveshops offer full scuba diving courses with International recognised PADI diplomas. Some of them organise trips to Chinchorro Bank, you will always need a minimum of 6 people to go there.

Deep sea and Fly fishing
Lots of people have been deep sea fishing at one of the many spots in front of Costa Maya and came home with a grouper, red snapper, barracuda or another specie. Our "chef" is very happy to prepare your own catch for you ! There are several lagoons, some close, some at quite some distance of Mahahual which are excelent for fly fishing. Some of the species to catch: tarpon, bBonefish, marlin, grouper, barracuda, snapper and dorado.
